What Is the Honhaar Scholarship?

The Punjab Honhaar Scholarship is a fully funded higher education support program launched by the Punjab Higher Education Commission under the government of Punjab.

It covers tuition, academic fees, and essential expenses for talented but financially weak students enrolled in public universities, medical colleges, and technical institutes across Pakistan.

The program is built around two goals:

  • Support students who’ve proven their academic potential.
  • Remove financial barriers that stop deserving students from continuing education.

Who Can Apply for the Honhaar Scholarship?

To qualify for the Honhaar Scholarship, you must meet the following:

  • You are enrolled in a public-sector institution, such as a university, medical/dental college, or technical institute.
  • Your monthly household income is below the threshold, around PKR 60,000.
  • You have maintained good academic performance usually 60%+ marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • You are a Pakistani citizen with a valid CNIC or B-Form.
  • Your documents, admission slip, transcripts, and income proof must be complete and verifiable.

What’s Covered in the Honhaar Scholarship?

It is a need-based scholarship, so it covers almost all major academic expenses, including:

  • Full tuition fees for the academic session
  • Examination fees and lab charges
  • Books and course materials
  • Library and registration fees
  • Possible monthly stipend in special cases

What Changed: The Extension

Originally, the last date to apply was June 20, 2025, but the deadline has now been extended to August 5, 2025, after a high number of students requested more time.

Along with the extension, a few other things were updated:

  • The number of total scholarships has increased to 50,000 nationwide.
  • Application portal hours have been extended to prevent website crashes.
  • Students from remote and underserved areas are being encouraged to apply with simplified documentation.
  • No physical documents need to be submitted; everything is online
